Oh, and this is a list of the nine or so things I have to do, still.

-Type up "Earl Golding and the Amazingly Short Story"
-Type up "Sunni Fails at Scaring"
-Do Episode 15 (2%)
-Finish Rapture of the Deep. (5%)
-Another chapter of True North and Maple Leaves (5%)
-Words on Origins III (Lionel, Erin, and ____)
-Words on Spare Time (Dove, William, Eric, Marie-Giselle)
-Wheat and Sky sequel and de-anoning
-Words on the Impossible

Typical system applies. Finished tasks will be struck out, percentages based on my lousy estimated will be updated.

So, guys, I have a few questions concerning my writing. Feel free to skip this journal if you don't feel like answering questions. You can answer all or none of them or pick and choose what you think you can answer. And seriously, I want to hear complaints, too. I thirst for constructive criticism! (Believe me, I take that well. It means you care enough about my writing to correct it.)

Concerning my characters...
Do my characters have originality and believablility within the constraints of their universe? (Ex. Tsukiko in a AC is believable. Tsukiko in Words On, not so much.)

Do they have valid strengths and weaknesses that are not over-the-top? Could those strengths and weaknesses be exploited in way I haven't yet?

Are their names appropriate for the setting?

Is there any way I could expand on my characters to make them better?

Concerning plots I write...
Do my plots and conflicts ever sound contrived or unbelievable within the context of the universe they're in?

Do my plots exhibit any form of originality?

Are there ways I could improve with my plots, foreshadowing, conflicts, etc.?

Concerning what happens in the stories...
Have there ever been plot points to any of my stories that you disliked or thought were not done well?

Plot twists? Any thoughts at all.

Does my dialogue come across or does it fall flat? Do my characters have distinct voices?

Do character relationships focus too much on the romantic side? Do you find other kinds of relationships are expanded enough?

And all the rest...
Have I ever messed with your emotions in any way because of something I've written?

Is there anything I royally screwed up on in my recent work? (I say recent because anything older than the revised Episode 0 I do not count as my best work any more.)

Is what I write something you would've considered reading if it were in a bookstore? (This is just curiosity.)

What do you think of the things I've written? Thoughts on AC and Words On are especially appreciated.

In other news: I missed breaskfast this morning and so my whole day has been thrown out of whack. It's exceedingly frustrating. I also have an orchestra practice and and film club meeting to go to today. Argh! Hopefully I can eat properly sometime between then and now.

In other other news: Really excited about SYTYCD Canada. Got "When You Say My Name" stuck in my head.

In other other other news: I keep finding heartbreakingly good stuff on the kink meme (all of it depressing) and I made a new friend on LJ who happens to like how I write Canada. I'm really happy about this~

So, hey

Lately I've gotten hooked on "So You Think You Can Dance Canada". I don't usually go for those shows, but the dancing is really good. Cody and Meleanie are my favourite pair~ Although Amy and Vincent are really good, too.

The only problem is, I can't stop watching this: [link] routine. That says something about my mental state, no doubt. That, and they sent Taylor home. Why? His tango was my favourite! /pettyangst

So, yeah, completely inane update. I figure it's better than constantly seeing that project list (which I'm still working on, I promise! I have one fill and Steph's request all written out, they just have to get typed up! And I'm working on finishing Robyn's second request! It's a dark one, I'll tell you.)
